When You Think You Can’t Do It
A Bite-Size Read for Your Health and Waistline
This week’s topic is integrity! Integrity is about being a person of your word and your commitments. Often, we find ourselves keeping the commitments we make to others, and we don’t always do the same with our own needs. Not keeping the commitments we make to ourselves, creates self-doubt.
You may be thinking: what does that have to do with my health? As a health coach, I often hear people say, “I know what to do, I just don’t do it” or “I can’t do moderation!” These thoughts are built on a foundation of self-doubt. A big piece of growth in our wellness journeys is believing in ourselves, believing we can do it. And I think a major piece of this belief in us, this confidence, is integrity.
As we said, integrity is being a person of your word. When we have integrity with ourselves, we know we’ll do what we say we will. By keeping the commitments we make to ourselves, we are showing ourselves we can reach our goals!
The question I pose to you is: how do you handle situations that are about your own health and wellness?
Let’s commit to operate our lives with integrity, to do what we say we are going to do, to eat well, get our bodies moving, and take care of ourselves. I believe that you have it in you to stick to your commitments, you just must prove it to yourself because you are more than capable.
That’s my take on integrity and what it has to do with your health, wellness, and food choices. Remember, at times when you are feeling unmotivated, ask yourself, “Do I have integrity?” “Am I a person of my word?” and take the next step towards your goals!
