A Bite-Size Read for Your Health and Waistline

looking down on a table where you see a woman’s hands holding open a journal, she has a pen in her hand about to start writing. on the table is also a coffee and a croissant with a bite taken out of it.

Keto! Paleo! Whole30! Intermittent fasting! Weight Watchers! Noom! Eat less! Eat clean! How are we supposed to know what to do, what not to do or what’s going to work?!

It can be overwhelming to decipher all the diets out there and what to prioritize each day. Digging into the options, we often find ourselves in the weeds and saying no to blueberries because they aren’t organic but yes to butter in our coffee. Still, it’s somewhat common sense to say blueberries are healthful and dairy isn’t our best source of fat. When I notice this with my clients and podcast listeners, I like to remind everyone of the daily foundation — the true fundamentals for health (the side effect of which is removing the extra weight, healing disease, and improved energy…yes please!)

The daily foundation is an actual plan of what we want to focus on each day. If you like checklists…this is for YOU!

Notice this checklist doesn’t tell you the exact details of what to eat. Rather, these are guidelines, a framework. This is your foundation. Don’t eat something you don’t like. It doesn’t matter if someone told you it’s the next miracle food.

Similarly, the checklist also does not include weighing yourself. Divorce the scale! To check in on your daily progress, ask yourself: How am I feeling? How is my energy? How is my sleep? How is my stress?

All the other details we hear, the rules we’ve been told and the food lists we’ve tried to stick to are, above all, likely a distraction and a reason to beat ourselves up. We can overcomplicate our health, and we don’t need to!
