Letting Go of Guilt: Embrace Your Best, Because It’s Enough
A Bite-Size Read for Your Health and Waistline
“Do more,” they say. “Go big or go home.” “Go the extra mile.” “Push boundaries.” Anyone else feel like this approach can feel exhausting? More than that, it can make us feel like no matter what we’re doing or how much we’re doing, there’s more. What if everything you’re doing is enough?!
Most of the time, when people hear the word enough, it has a negative connotation. We hear it like an adult might say it to a misbehaving child, sharply, in a whispered yell, “Enough!”
Today, I want to offer a different tone and, therefore, a different connotation for the word, enough. What if we said it with kindness and reassurance?
Years ago one of my coaches said something that stuck with me and when I’ve shared it with my clients and podcast audience it seems to help them too. She said, “All you can do is all you can do, and all you can do is enough.” The first time I heard this, my Type A, perfectionist mind was blown.
