I aim to please. Based on an audience request from my Instagram DMs (I love chatting with everyone about all things health, wellness, and food), we’re looking into Perfect Bars. They are the individually wrapped snack bars you’ve probably seen in the mini fridges at Starbucks or the “health food” aisles of your local grocery store. When I worked in hedge funds, living that 8–6, Mon-Fri, office grind, I enjoyed one myself from time to time; my favorite flavor was chocolate peanut butter. I haven’t looked at them in years, so let’s dig deep into how nutritious they really are.

Here’s the thing, their marketing is great. Even I’ll admit, because they must be refrigerated, they play with the mind, making you think they must be a healthful option! Or in the least, better for us than the protein bars sitting on unrefrigerated shelves…right?! Taking a look at their website, they even tout themselves as “fresh from the fridge, protein snacks…for the whole family, made with clean ingredients, freshly ground nut butter, organic honey, superfoods…” etc. They’re even advertised as USDA organic, non-GMO, and include 20 plus superfoods. Sounds (dare I say) perfect! Let’s keep going.

What matters the most is a combination of what’s in the bars and how much of certain ingredients, plus the balance…
