A Bite-Size Read for Your Health and Waistline

The food industry is always looking to provide the next “healthy snack.” Maybe you’ve seen the ads for one called Bonny Squares. My dear friend Stephanie did and, knowing I’m a health coach, she sent it to me to get my opinion. Of course, then it started showing up all the time in my social media feed too (oh, algorithms!). The ad’s tagline says, “Pop and poop.” Their marketing truly caught my attention — it made me laugh, and I was intrigued. Of course, to give Stephanie, my clients and podcast listeners my opinion on this product, I knew I needed to explore beyond the ad.

The first thing I did was visit their website, and I have to say, their marketing person is spot on. It’s like they’re totally speaking my language. Whoever they hired must be part of our demo — it’s so relatable! The site uses fun language like “Why Bonny is the sh*t.” They describe their products with phrases like “poop-tastic ingredients” and even call them “elite poops”. I couldn’t help but feel seen by their playful approach; it’s clever and relatable! Again, I need to dig deeper than take their marketing at face value, so I dove into the nutrition facts, and this is where it got interesting.

Each square has 70 calories, 1g of fat, 14g of carbs (2g of which are fiber, 8g are sugar, including 2g of added sugar), and 1g of…
