So many of us today feel challenged by concentration and seasonal ailments. While seemingly disconnected, there’s one plant compound that may help us all feel better: Luteolin.

While maybe new to you, this yellow plant pigment is hardly new. It’s been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for a very long time. While we could certainly use more research on this nutrient, the research that’s available leads to very interesting potential for human health.

Fundamentally, luteolin is a flavonoid found in plants, such components protect the plant from microbes and other environmental threats. It’s possible they have a similar benefit in the human body.

Imagine luteolin as a shapeshifter, seamlessly transitioning between antioxidant and pro-oxidant roles. This contributes to the challenge of interpreting the research. In the anti-inflammatory corner, it flexes its muscles, potentially combating cancer and soothing inflammation. On the pro-oxidant stage, this activity may help with the appropriate death of damaged cells.
